SAP BPC 10.0 with MS SQL 2012 Standard Edition

Hi,

A question out there to see if anyone has managed to get BPC 10.0 MS to work on a SQL Server Standard Edition. Or, at least what tricks they used to get it to work.

(I am aware that it's not completely supported although page 10 of the installation guide says this: We recommend SQL Server 2008 (or R2) Enterprise Edition or SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Edition for the OLAP database to support proactive cache and cube partitioning. It is technically possible to use SQL Server 2008 (or R2) Standard Edition or SQL Server 2012 Standard Edition for data integration servers, but we do not recommend this.)

I have managed to restore a BPC  7.5 on SQL 2008 Enterprise Edition to BPC 10.0 on SQL 2012 Standard Edition (with some backdoor hacking), but the Input Sheets don't seem to work too well. The inputs do not reflect until an optimise is run. (That is the result of Proactive Caching not being available.)

What is interesting is that in the Rates cube (Model) I only have a FAC2 and a FACT partition (not sure how that happened) and not a FACTWB partition, whereas in my Planning Model, I have all three. The Planning Model is the one giving the problems. The Rate Model is less of an issue with the Input Sheets.

I am reluctant just to delete the FACTWB partition in the Planning Model.

(I am also aware of the other discussions on BPC 7.5 Installation with SQL Server 2008 Stand... | SCN and Restoring Appset fails, but was just seeing if anyone else out there has managed to work it out, even though it's unsupported).

Thoughts? Ideas?

Kind Regards

Nick
