NewID

I have changed the ID's of several members using the NewID property in the membersheet. Reports are being affected, as the old members are randomly disappearing. Is there a way to prevent this? I've already tried processing/full optimizing the models. Am running BPC 10 MS SP 08, epm 14 patch 1.
