I am working on our first upgrade of BPC and am installing BPC 7.5 SP11. In SAP Note 1803261- Planning & Consolidation 7.5M SP11 Central Note, the Prerequisites section has a paragraph:
"During the upgrade process, the new ApShell overwrites the previous version of ApShell without deleting it. If you want to keep and refer to the previous version of ApShell, back it up before upgrading to 7.5, and then restore it with a different name after upgrading. If you want to use the pure version of ApShell in 7.5, rename the existing ApShell WebFolder and FileDB directories before upgrading. For more information, see SAP Note 1382866."
I have looked for a procedure to "restore it with a different name after upgrading", but haven't found one. Would someone be able to explain the steps?
I'm also not quite sure I understand the difference between restoring with a different name, versus using the pure version of ApShell in 7.5 by renaming the existing ApShell WebFolder and FileDB directories before upgrading. The SAP documentation seems a little vague here.
