Error: does not have Admin Console access privileges (SAP BPC 7.0 for MS)

Hiall,

We are encountering issues when logging into the admin console. When users log into the console, they encounter the error "<username> does not have Admin Console access privileges".

The error is intermittent, and our workaround has been to try logging in the admin console as the bpc sysadmin user (dont know why this user is able to login when others cannot), logout from the admin console, and after that when we try to login again using our normal IDs, we will now be able to access the admin console. Not sure why this works, but it does.

To find the permanent solution, I found this SAP Note 1747360 - No Access to the Admin Console where the resolution is as follows:

Steps to resolve the issue:

1.Rename the Outlooksoft (PC_MS) local folder in the "My Documents" folder to Outlooksoft_OLD (which would be the same as deleting this folder).

2.Ensure the user is assigned to the PrimaryAdmin Task Profile (and only this profile) in the UserProfile SQL table.

3.Have the user log out and then log back into the BPC Admin console.

Can anyone please explain to me how to perform step#2? I dont understand what it meant by "assigned to the PrimaryAdmin Task Profile (and only this profile) in the UserProfile SQL table".

a. Isn't the user management done in the admin console?

b. And what if the user is assigned to other task profiles other than PrimaryAdmin, or if the user is not even assigned to PrimaryAdmin originally?

c. Should I assign the user to PrimaryAdmin only (remove other task profiles), have him/her login to admin console, and once they are able to access the console, i'll revert back the original tasks profiles originally assigned to them?

Please advise.

Thank you in advance!

Regards,

Cha
