BPC 7.0 DumpLoad question

Hi,

This is my first post here.

We are on BPC 7.0 and have had several BPC applications in production for around 4 years now.

In our Fact loads I am using a custom SSIS package to import data into the application cube. I use the Convert task, then the Dump/Load task. I have a question about the DumpLoad task. Based on initial examples and advice from consultants I have been using the Import into Cube option with ProcessCube Fac2 selected. However now that we have been accumulating data for some time this DumpLoad task is taking over 10 minutes to process around 100Mb of data which seems excessive. I would love to reduce this time since we load data every hour and performance is an issue. We do a full Admin Optimize each night as well.

So my question is what is the difference between the Import into SQL option for the DumpLoad task and the Import into Cube option? It seems that both versions populate both the SQL fact tables and the Cube...? I see a comment in the documentation that says to use Import into SQL for large data volumes. Is 100Mb considered large?

In short, which load option should I be using - what are the differences?

Thanks for any information, I have not found very much info on this in the documentation. I am an SSIS expert.

Thanks!

Ty Johnson
