Can the Date be Formatted in BPC? - Version: BPC Release 7.5.112.07/MS

Hi BPC Community,

 

We want to format a dimension property in BPC 7.5 to display the date as: Day-Month-Year, e.g., 8-Aug-14. In our existing database we have different formats such as: 01-Oct-2002 or 12/31/2014.

 

Is there a way to set this property to display dates as: 01-Oct-2002 no matter what the actual input is?

Error saving package in Organize Package List after Modify Script

We're upgrading from BPC MS 7.5 PL 6 (SQL 2008) to BPC MS 10.0 PL 15 (SQL 2012).

 

We have several custom DataManager packages with Script Tasks in them.

 

The problem we're running into is we get an error trying to save the package after it has been loaded into DataManager Organize Package List.

 

 

Steps to reproduce error with simple package

 

  • Create a new integration solution in SSDT-BI
  • Add a "Script Task" to package file (no need to add code or modify here)
  • save
  • Copy package file to appropriate folder under \WebFolders\
  • Log into BPC into the environment/model that owns the location where the package file was placed
  • Select Organize from the Data Manager menu.
  • Add package to appropriate area in Organize Package List
  • Modify the package from Organize Package List
  • Click Modify Script button
  • Click Save button
  • Result is the error dialog that is attached.

 

We've tried every permutation we can think of and have not been successful in fix.

 

Has anyone out there experienced something like this?

Data manager package log does not show Global variables!!

Hello Experts,

 

We are using BPC 10 sp14 Microsoft version with SQL Server 2008 R2. We are seeing an issue where datamanager package log does not show the Global variables defined in package script whereas in BPC 7.5 Global variable were visible in package log.

 

Please let us know is this behavior changed in BPC 10?

 

Below is the package script having Global variables and Package log not showing any of them.

OSoftSchedulingDMLauncher crash on BPC 7.5 MS

Hi experts,

on our BPC 7.5 SP7 for the Microsoft platform sometimes we got an issue about

the scheduled packages.

When in the morning, we check on the application server we got many error popus for

the OSoftSchedulingDMLauncher.exe executables and all the nighttime scheduled packages

had not ran. In the following the popup contents (see also the attached jpeg):

 

Description:

  OSoftSchedulingDMLauncher.exe stopped working

BPC 10 EvDRE and EPM Functions

All –

 

Working on converting our 7.5 templates to version 10 and I'm having an issue with saving data consistently to the system.

 

One of my templates has 4 sheets in it and on one of those sheets, I have an EvDRE function to send a data grid to the system.  I also have the EPMSaveData and EPMSaveComment functions on the sheet so that I can send certain flags to the system (thus confirming a user has completed this process correctly).

 

What I am seeing is that when I call the API "SaveandRefreshWorkbook” via a VBA macro, the data within the EvDRE range and the EPMSaveComment is sent to the system however the data being sent via EPMSaveData is not sending...at least not consistently.  It would send on the first attempt but on the second attempt, it won't send however on a third attempt, the data is sent.

 

I am at a loss as to why the EPMSaveData fields are not consistently sending to the system yet the EvDRE and EPMSaveComment functions are working with no issues.

 

Does anyone know if there are issues sending a worksheet within a workbook that has the EvDRE, EPMSaveData, and EPMSaveComment functions all present on a sheet in version 10 for Microsoft?

 

Please advise.

[Environment].BUI File and Backups

Beginning in version 10, when creating a backup using Server Manager, an XML file is created in the FileDB folder called [Environment].BUI.

 

We are looking to automate backups, and are looking for:

 

  • How to create or copy this file into the backup folder structure
  • Any background on how to create this file

 

Please respond with any information or experience related to this file.

BPC v10 Book Publishing Data File

I have a group that heavily utilizes book publishing in our current version of BPC, whereby the process runs and we are able to pull off the underlying PDF documents to a separate network folder for them once they run since the people they run them for do not have system access.

 

We are trying to go live on an upgrade to v10, our ITS group wants to do this by Friday, but the files (or zip file) isn't going to the same location it used to.  I don't want to hold the IT group up, but at the same time cannot shut this off for my customer so I am looking for any help that may be available.

 

Current version 7.0, SP3, places the published books here:

 

L:\FileDB\FinanceAppSet\Main  ("L" being the drive IT mapped for us so we could pick up the files)

 

Files don't appear to be going to the same location on the new server/version, and I need to find where they are going so I can give the green light to the upgrade.  (Well, as soon as IT resolves the issue whereby we can't access BPC Help, but that isn't part of this question....)

"Help" in the software isn't accessible.  Window opens, with nothing in it.

 

Our IT group working with SAP to get resolution, but any thoughts/help appreciated as we are under the gun to finish before Friday.

Testing of reports migrated from MS7.5 to MS10.0

Hello Gurus,

We are migrating BPC reports from MS7.5 to MS10.0. Iam involved in testing the reports in 10.0 & validating them against the reports in 7.5.

In this regards, if someone can suggest me what are the checks I need to do to test whether the consolidation & planning reports are working properly in the MS10.0 version.

Any kind of inputs in this regards will be highly appreciated.

Hi all,

 

we have an input schedule that gives users a reference number (MS 7.5 version). However, sometimes users open the schedule at the same time and both get the same number. Is there a way to prevent a schedule from opening if another users already has it open?

Problem with multiple reports: only the first report visible

Hello,

 

I have a problem with my report that I have created with the EPM-Addin for Excel (2010).

I want to put multiple reports in one excel sheet. I did this for many sheets in my file. At some point it didn't work anymore. If I want to put a second report under my first report, nothing happens. All cells are empty.

 

I have chosen the following approach, which worked out for many sheets until my problem occured:

 

-create the first report with the report editor

-create second report via the function "new report" in the EPM ribbon

-choose entity, interco and icaccount

-share page and column axis with the first report

 

If I do this the report is created ( I can see this in the report editor) but all cells are empty.

 

Do you have any ideas how I can fix this problem?

 

I would appreciate some input on this topic.

How do I create an additional hierarchy in the Account dimension? We already have H1 (PARENTH1). We would like step-by-step directions and what part of the BCP application to perform these steps. I added, below, the dimension columns and attached the Maintain Dimension Property report.

BPC MS7.5 to MS10.0 reports migration

Hello Group,,

 

 

We are migrating Sap BPC reports from MS 7.5 to  MS 10.0.

 

 

We are provided with certain that are in Sap BPC 7.5. The reports are using EVDRE functions many of them are hard coded and few reports have data.We are supposed to migrate it to 10.0 with dynamic formatting.

 

 

1) We were provided with reports in MS7.5

2) We have replaced most of the EVDRE fucntions with EPM functions ( faced issue with few functions like EVEXP).

3) We have converted hard coded values to OLAP members

Ex: if ACTUAL is there by typing or pasting same in the cell converting it as OLAP member Actual and formatting part is additional then Refreshing those reports.

 

Could you please share your thoughts on whether this is the best way of migrating BPC reports from MS7.5 to MS10.0?

Any help in this regards will be highly appreciated.

BPC 10 MS - SELECT statement

I am trying to filter dimension members using SELECT statement..I am trying to get ent2 list  where ID'S NOT IN ENT1  list.

my second select returns incorrect list. can we use "not in " in select in BPC?

BPC 10 MS - RUNALLOCATION

iam  running allocation via DM package. Allocation logic works fine but it doesn't not trigger default logic.

 

Any idea why it will not trigger DEFAULT?
