Pb on logic in save mode

Hi experts,

 

I wrote script logic to transfert data from one model to another,

in simulation mode,the script seems to work correctly

nevertheless, while executing in save mode, or using a datapackage, i face this king of log,

does someone already face this issue ?

Import SQL Package!!

Hi to all Experts,

I installed BPC MS 10.0 with SQL Server 2012.

I want to do a demo test on Import SQL data into bpc. For this, I searched for how to use Import SQL DM Package.

 

I created a sql table, and then ran import sql dm package via excel client. I get the following error.

 

Error occurred while updating the dynamic properties of a package

[dbo].[tblFAC2Copy] is missing or invalid source table.

 

I know for sure that I am missing some basic configuration in this matter, but could not figure it out.

 

Note: in Import SQL package properties, ApShell is used. which I think is not correct because I do not have any application with this name.

 

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Data reported only on base level members

The issue : After entering datas, it can be reported only on base level member.


Step 1 : Entering datas at a crossing including the CATEGORY "Réel Analytique"

Step 2 : saving datas

Step 3 : refreshing the report

Step 4 : Changing the category member (Page Axis) for the parent of “Réel Analytique”

 

  • Result : The datas are not reported.

 

Please find a detailed step by step in attachement.

error in sprunconversion "string or binary data would be truncated"

Hi,

 

Our currency conversion shows "succeeded" in Data manager, and currency is converted

- but the log shows and error: "error running storede procedure sprunconversion ....."

 

 

We checked all dimension properties and everything seems fine -then we manually ran the stored procedure SPRUNCONVERSION from sql management studio -and it shows an error "string or binary data would be truncated".

 

Could someone from SAP please let me know what the script is at:

Level 16, State 2, Line 1 :-) - version 10.0.13.0

SQL Server Failed to Optimise

Hi.. i have come across this problem SQL server can not optimize the database..

What could be the problem? On side of that the hard drive is just full of out of no where. (3gb)

Install BPC MS alongside Disclosure Management in sandbox VM

Hi all, I am trying to make a sandbox environment with both BPC 10 MS and Disclosure Management on the same machine for demonstration purposes. I have already DM installed in a VM so I am taking that one as base, however when trying to add BPC it crashes the DM installation. Would really appreciate if anyone can share feedback, thoughts, comments or experiences in doing this. Thanks!

EPM add-in installation on one PC for all users

Dears,

 

a specific question on the installation of EPM add-in. When installing the EPM add-in as an admin , it is possible to change the installation folder

so that it is not installed under the user specific folder c:\users\<user\ but under a generic folder.

 

When doing so, and another user logs in to the PC, the EPM add-in does not load. What do you need to do to trigger EPM add-in to load for all users

logging on to that PC ?

Export Transformation File

I am building an export file to load data into ECC and I need to provide the data in a specific format.

 

How can I do the following:

 

1.  Cost Center to ECC needs to be the combination of the BPC Cost Center and Company code.  For example, costcenter-companycode(6000-1000)

 

2. Conversion of Account and company codes to ECC equivalent.

 

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Using MS-SQL Replication for Phased Upgrade from 7.5 to 10.0 MS

Hi,

 

We are looking to upgrade SAP BPC 7.5 (MS) to SAP BPC 10.0 (MS) on separate servers. The application is large with a lot of schedules and reports, written in EVDRE/EVGET, etc. As is, some of these may work in BPC 10.0 straight-off, most may not.

 

There is one AppSet / Environment.

 

Since a big bang approach (migrating ALL Models to EPM 10.0) in one shot is going to take a lot of time and could be risky in terms of timing, user adoption and the like, the thinking is to have the various Models migrate at different times. To keep the FACT data in sync across the servers, I am thinking of using MS-SQL Replication (Pub / Sub) on the FACT tables to push from the 7.5 server to the 10.0 server.

 

As an example, assume there are 4 Models, A, B, C, D. Once A is migrated to 10.0, users would use EPM (connecting to the new server) to access 10.0 schedules and reports, while for B, C, D, they would use 7.5 (which will still be connected to the old server).

 

The SAP BPC 10.0 server would be the subscriber (recipient). (Not sure if I need bi-directional replication)

 

Maybe someone has done something like this before ... Any ideas? A good idea? Bad idea?

Formula reverting back to original after refresh

Hi Experts,

 

We have a report where I need to make changes to the displayed text.

 

It goes something like

 

A     B                    C                         D

1     Account            Department         Heading

2   ExecutiveExP    Dep1                    =if(b2="executiveexp" & c2="Dep1", "HR", "Total")

3   ExecutiveEXP    Dep2                    =if(b2="executiveexp" & c2="Dep2", "Finance", "Total")

4   GeneralEXP     Dep3                      =if(b2="executiveexp" & c2="Dep3", "admin", "Total")

5   GeneralEXP     Dep4                      =if(b2="executiveexp" & c2="Dep4", "marketing", "Total")

 

 

The report worked fine all these days, but recently the user changed the account member "executiveexp" to "execexp"

 

So I changed the if formula to

 

=if(b2="execexp" & c2="Dep1", "HR", "Total")

 

but after refresh it it reverting back to the old formula.

 

Is there any way to sort this?

Calling for a database refresh via VBA code

In the previous version of SAP BCP, I had a VBA macro that called for the refresh of data in an excel spreadsheet using the command: Application.Run ("MNU_ETOOLS_REFRESHEET").  Does anyone know how to call this command in SAP EPM? It generates an error.

What is the proper Calculated Dimension Member Syntax

I feel pretty stupid asking this but I haven't had to create a calculated member in quite a while.  If its available can someone provide a link to any documentation or guide me in my formula.

 

Here is what i'm trying to do. Sum 3 projects as Project A.   We don't want to create a new hierarchy for this so we hoped it could be done in a calculation. 

 

Project A equals the sum of Project B, Project C, Project D.

 

 

 

We are on BPC 7.5 MS

Concurrency Locks keep locking

Every time I try to send data from my input form, excel hang's and I have to kill it. As a result data gets locked and I am forced to manually delete locks. Has anyone here suffered the same problem? I am the only one using the machine for the moment. what is the best way to avoid concurrency locks to keep locking on me?

Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))" when looking up users in domain

We migrated our BPC10 SP16 on Win2008R2/SQL 2008R2 to BPC10 SP16 on Win2012R2/SQL 2012R2 environment. BPC App server is installed in

domain A and our corporate users are in domain B. There is external trust setup between these two domains. We did the install using an admin id in domain B. After this install/migration, all the diagnostic tests in the server manager are successful. We have updated the system groups in server manager to use domain B as the domain after the migration.

 

Now when we go in administration client and try to add new users, upon selecting the domain B from dropdown, we get an error

"Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))". This works in our old server.

I have looked at SAP Notes 1840454, 2004556 and disabled UAC, also set registry key EnableLUA to 0 but this did not help

 

Just fyi, using the MMC add-in for Active directory users and groups, I am able to query the domain B, retrieve users etc. However don't

understand why BPC application is giving access is denied. In the trace files, we are seeing errors

BPC10 Win2012 R2 Web Splash Sceen Hang

Hi All,

 

We have recently installated BPC 10 SP 14 on a Windows 2012 R2 server. SAP BPC Administration and Excel work OK. However when accessing the Web front end via "http://<servername>/sap/bpc/web" the Business Objects SAP splash screen appears with the blue bar appears (see screenshot) and then the website stops loading and hangs.

 

I've tried a few different versions of IE on different PC's - all exhibit the same behavior.

 

Finally, I installed fiddler and noticed several 500 errors from the /POA/SBC folder.

 

Changing the BPC IIS App Pool pipeline to classic allows me to get further, but no matter what I do, the client says you are not authorized to access any Environments.

All our other installations run using integrated so, its clear something is awry.

 

A final note, is that Windows 2012 R2 comes with .NET 4.5 & 3.5, 4.0 is not available (although in IIS it states 4.0, i have read that .net 4.5 appears at 4.0 and 3.5 appears as 2.0).

 

Any advice?

Data Upload Question

We can't figure out how to approach setting up a transformation file to manage the data file format below:

 

Account,Description,Segment1,Segment2,Segment3,Segment4

I thought Category by Time but I can;t get it to load all 4 columns of data. Any suggestion most welcome....
